IRVINE, CA, June 17, 2008 — Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products, a recognized leader in security monitoring systems, announced today the new IK-WD01A mini-dome IP camera, the most recent addition to its expanding line of IP network-centric surveillance solutions.Housed in a compact white dome measuring only 5.5-inches in diameter, the new IK-WB01A has a discreet appearance that readily blends into the décor of retail stores, shopping malls, restaurants, educational facilities and offices. By incorporating a robust feature-set that includes its own built-in webserver, along with dual codec Motion-JPEG and MPEG4 (SP) compression, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), detailed VGA (640 x 480) resolution, and a streaming video rate of 30 frames-per-second, the IK-WB01A is network-ready straight out of the box.”The IK-WB01A offers an affordable, high-performance platform for integrating the benefits of IP video into new and existing surveillance programs,” explained Sergio Collazo, Director of Sales and Marketing for Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products. “Its inconspicuous design is a perfect solution for retailers, schools and other users who want state-of-the-art IP video performance from components that also preserve the esthetics of the surrounding area.”

Key to the camera’s ability to reproduce crisp video images is its 1/4-inch CMOS image sensor and wide-angle Varifocal fixed lens (F=1.4-1.8, f=2.0-4.0 mm) with 4X digital zoom. This progressive scan system is complemented by backlight compensation, flickerless imaging, auto gain control, and auto white balance that yields excellent video in most lighting instances.

To allow for audio monitoring and warnings, the IK-WB01A features a microphone input and line out for speakers. Camera set-up is achieved using the included Installation Wizard, a web browser or via SMTP or FTP.
